{"id":474,"date":"2015-01-27T18:49:58","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T18:49:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recipes.morgeneggweb.com\/?p=474"},"modified":"2015-01-27T18:50:30","modified_gmt":"2015-01-27T18:50:30","slug":"seafood-chowder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes.morgeneggweb.com\/?p=474","title":{"rendered":"Seafood Chowder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In medium sized saucepan saute the following in 2 Tablespoons oil:<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 cup chopped green onions<br \/>\n\u00bd pound scallops, bite sized (cut if too large, I buy the small ones for this soup)<\/p>\n<p>Saute until just softened not browned. Remove from pan.<br \/>\nIn same pan combine over medium heat until warm and smooth:<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups milk<br \/>\n8 ounces cream cheese<br \/>\n1 can cream of shrimp soup (can also use cream of mushroom but I like the shrimp flavor better)<\/p>\n<p>Use a wooden spoon or whip to blend these together until a smooth warm mixture.<\/p>\n<p>Add to the above soup:<br \/>\n1 cup shredded carrots (can also use chopped carrots)<br \/>\n\u00bd cup diced cooked potatoes<br \/>\n1 teaspoon chopped parsley (dried works also)<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon pepper<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon cayenne pepper<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon thyme<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon marojam (if you don\u2019t have this it is okay &#8211; not sure how it changes the flavor but I have made it both ways and don\u2019t miss it)<br \/>\n\u00bd pound shrimp (I like the mid sized which is closer to bite size but if you only have large just cut them in half)<br \/>\n\u00bd pound white fish (or salmon can be used as well)(I usually use tilapia, catfish, cod or swai)<\/p>\n<p>Add the garlic mixture and stir well until well heated.
