{"id":442,"date":"2010-01-25T00:54:53","date_gmt":"2010-01-25T00:54:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recipes.morgeneggweb.com\/?p=442"},"modified":"2010-01-25T00:54:53","modified_gmt":"2010-01-25T00:54:53","slug":"pasta-fagioli-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes.morgeneggweb.com\/?p=442","title":{"rendered":"Pasta Fagioli Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is my own version but close to the one we have had at a place near the temple here that we really like.\u00a0 Dad liked it well enough to have extra helpings.<\/p>\n<p>In a large sauce pan saute:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4-6 cloves garlic, chopped fine<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, chopped fine<\/li>\n<li>3-4 stalks celery, chopped fine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Saute until clear, then add:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 links hot italian sausage cut in half lengthwise and then slices thin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cook until sausage is cooked through.<\/p>\n<p>Add:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 can diced tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>1 can chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>1 can cantelloni beans (or other white beans)<\/li>\n<li>3-4 carrots, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2-3 stalks celery, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 Tablespoon oregano (fresh is great but dried is fine also)<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons pepper (black pepper or mixed with other &#8211; like white &#8211; I did not use red or cayenne pepper)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let cook until all ingredients are blended and carrots are softened but not mushy.<\/p>\n<p>Add 1 cup ditalini or other small pasta.\u00a0 Let cook until pasta is cooked through (could cook pasta separate but it cooked fine with the soup).<\/p>\n<p>Serve with parmesan cheese and bread.<\/p>\n<p>Note: I started this soup at about 4 and it was ready to eat by 6 and I didn&#8217;t cook the whole time.\u00a0 Daniel sent me a recipe that I plan to try but the other recipes I found didn&#8217;t sound like the ones we had had that we liked.\u00a0 Let me know what you think if you try it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is my own version but close to the one we have had at a place near the temple here that we really like.\u00a0 Dad liked it well enough to have extra helpings.
